Terms & Conditions

Version 2.0 · Published 4 July 2026

This document sets out the scope of our services, the materials and technologies we use, our team, and the legal terms that apply to every order — including your rights under UK consumer law and your responsibilities around models you send us. By submitting a quote request, uploading a 3D model, or placing an order, you confirm you have read and accept this document in full.

1. About us and scope of work

3D Labs Doncaster provides custom 3D printing, laser engraving and handmade resin décor from our workshop in Doncaster, England. By submitting a quote request or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

3D printing — production and project fulfilment

We specialise in producing parts using 3D printing technology, including:

  • Figurines and collectible models — characters from games, films, anime, comics; custom figurines made to order (e.g. with your own likeness).
  • Cosplay and stage props — masks, armour, costume elements, fantasy weapons, stage accessories.
  • Themed gadgets and accessories — keychains, stands, holders, decorations, personalised items.
  • Custom Sim Racing / Sim Flight accessories — bespoke control panels, holders and gear-shift levers; buttons and electronics housings; frames, mounts and wheel/cockpit adapters; ergonomic parts fitted to a specific setup.
  • Technical and industrial parts, such as ASIC mining-rig ventilation housings, and drone accessories — mounts, holders, arms, guards.

3D design / CAD modelling

  • Creating 3D models from scratch based on your idea or sketch.
  • Designing custom parts tailored to individual needs.
  • Modifying or optimising existing models.
  • Preparing models for printing (mesh repair, scaling, splitting into sections).
  • Creating functional models while preserving assembly dimensions and tolerances.

2. Quotes and pricing

All quotes are estimates until confirmed by an admin-set price. Confirmed prices are shown net of VAT (20% UK VAT applied at checkout). Prices are valid for 7 days from approval, after which the quote expires and a new one must be requested.

3. Order acceptance

An order is formed when you accept a confirmed quote and we receive cleared payment. Order confirmation is sent by email (CCR 2013, Reg. 16).

4. Cancellation rights

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:

  • You have a 14-day right to cancel from the date of payment.
  • Custom goods exemption (Schedule 3, paragraph 1): If you waive your right to cancel at checkout (by ticking the waiver checkbox), we may begin production immediately. In this case, your right to cancel no longer applies once production has started, except where goods are faulty or do not match the agreed specification.
  • If you did not waive your cancellation right, you may cancel within 14 days of payment via your order panel.

See our Cancellation Rights page for the statutory withdrawal form.

5. Delivery and service area

We dispatch via UK tracked delivery. Estimated completion times are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. Risk passes to you upon dispatch.

We serve customers in Doncaster, across the UK, and in European countries. All parcels are securely packed and insured. Personal collection is available by prior arrangement.

6. Materials we print with

We match materials and 3D printing technologies to the type of project, its intended use, and the durability required. We print on FDM machines (Ender) and SLA (resin), letting us produce both precise artistic models and durable technical parts.

FDM printing — filaments

  • PLA — ideal for figurines, gadgets and decorative pieces; very precise and eco-friendly.
  • PLA+ / Tough PLA — an improved, stronger version of PLA; great for durable accessories.
  • PETG — strong and impact-resistant; excellent for functional parts, mounting components and housings.
  • TPU — flexible and durable, with properties similar to rubber; ideal for dampers and grips.
  • ASA — resistant to sunlight and weather; used for drones, housings and outdoor parts.

SLA printing — photopolymer resins

  • Standard Resin — a classic resin for precise models and decorations.
  • ABS-Like / Tough Resin — increased impact resistance; suited to small functional parts.
  • Flexible Resin (on request) — an elastic material for special projects and damping components.

7. Additional services — laser engraving, crystal & acrylic, epoxy lamps

Alongside 3D printing, we offer bespoke services quoted individually rather than through the instant calculator. Get in touch to discuss your project.

3D scanning (coming soon)

We're expanding our technology base with a professional 3D scanner, adding precision object scanning and reverse engineering. This will let us:

  • Create digital copies of existing objects — from small parts to larger technical components.
  • Reproduce damaged or discontinued parts, e.g. for drones, devices, or sim-racing projects.
  • Digitise artistic models — figurines, props, cosplay pieces.
  • Speed up the design and fitting process for printing.

Laser engraving

Precision laser engraving on wood, leather and eco-leather, glass, metal and anodised aluminium, and acrylic and laminates — ideal for personalising gifts, awards, trophies and décor.

3D crystal & acrylic engraving

Laser engraving inside glass and crystal (3D Crystal Engraving), and printed graphics on acrylic — three-dimensional portraits, logos, statuettes, awards and personalised decorative panels. Every acrylic print and crystal engraving can be fitted with an LED-lit base, in a choice of light colours and lighting modes (steady, pulsing, colour-changing).

Handmade epoxy resin lamps

Epoxy resin night lamps, handmade — 100% by hand — from a combination of resin, wood, pigments and LED lighting. Every project is made to order only; we don't run mass production. Send us an enquiry describing your idea, an inspiration, or a photo, and we'll reply with a quote and a timeline.

Flagship product — epoxy resin lamp with LED lighting

A unique, handmade night lamp made from epoxy resin and wood. Every piece is made entirely by hand (100% handmade) and has a one-of-a-kind pattern — no two lamps look the same.

  • Materials: epoxy resin, wood, LED lighting
  • Power: USB or 12V adapter
  • Dimensions: made to individual size (10–30 cm in height)
  • Lighting options: steady, pulsing, colour-changing (RGB)
  • Turnaround: 7–14 days
  • Use: night lamp, gift, interior décor

LED light highlights the colours and shapes embedded in the resin, creating the effect of a glowing surface or depth. Lamps can be personalised — with embedded elements, a name, text or artwork.

8. Model rights and responsibility for copyright

At 3D Labs Doncaster, we print and paint 3D models to individual customer order. We do not sell ready-made designs protected by copyright (e.g. characters from films, games, brands, trademarks, etc.).

Ownership and rights to the model

  • All copyright in a submitted or referenced design belongs to the owner of the original rights (e.g. the manufacturer, film studio, or artist).
  • 3D Labs Doncasterclaims no rights whatsoever over models whose files were supplied by the customer or downloaded at the customer's request.
  • The printing and painting service is technical and functional in nature (made to order), not commercial reproduction.

Customer responsibility

  • By commissioning a print or paint job, you declare that you have the right to use the design in question, or that its use is strictly for private purposes.
  • You bear full legal responsibility for how the model is used (e.g. resale, publication, commercialisation).
  • 3D Labs Doncaster is not liable for any infringement of copyright, trademarks or patents arising from a design you supply.

Declaration required before ordering

Before uploading a 3D model file or placing an order, you are required to accept the following. By ticking the acceptance checkbox on the quote form, you declare that:

  1. I have the right to use the submitted 3D model or its components.
  2. The submitted design does not infringe the copyright, trademarks or patents of any third party.
  3. 3D Labs Doncaster performs this service purely on a technical basis — printing and, where applicable, painting the model — and is not responsible for the content or commercial use of the design.
  4. In the event of a third-party claim, I, as the customer placing the order, bear full responsibility.
  5. 3D Labs Doncaster reserves the right to refuse an order if it believes the submitted file may infringe applicable law or ethical standards.

Acceptance of these terms is mandatory before a model can be uploaded for production or an order placed. Without confirmed acceptance, the system will not accept the file or the order.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the price paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by English law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. We encourage you to contact us first at contact@3dlabsdoncaster.co.uk — most issues can be resolved quickly.
